So Sunday 2nd April saw the 6th annual Classic car show and autojumble at the Shuttleworth collection, Old Warden in Bedfordshire. Having checked the weather forecast (no rain, cloud clearing) I made my way to it safe in the knowledge that I would be there at 9.30am, about half an hour before the gates were open as I was anticipating long queues and knew that the restaurant would be open and serving breakfast. Lovely way to start a spring Sunday morning!
The show itself was much bigger than I had expected and with a great variety of vehicles the photo opportunities were endless. Here are a selection of pictures from the day.
My one piece of advice if you are planning on going to this or any similar show? Get there early, as in when the gates open. There were quite a lot of complaints about the queues on social media within 24 hours, some classic cars had even overheated due to the long waiting. Perhaps there were organisational issues, perhaps this show was a victim of it’s own success, anyway, I was early and certainly got my £8 worth for the day!
